Don’t Ever Use Apple Cider Vinegar If You’re On Any Of The Following Medications

Apple cider has many uses. It is considered to be one of the most powerful ingredients used by people in treating and preventing various health issues. It helps with issues about digestion, good for gut bacteria and provides numerous health benefits because of its healthy nutrient content. For these reasons, you should include it into your diet. However, you need to know a few things about it.

What are the health benefits of apple cider vinegar?

1. High in acetic acid. It helps in controlling the accumulation of fat and the high blood pressure. In addition to that, it also influences the blood glucose and other biological responses.

2. Possesses anti-cancer properties. However, its effectiveness is specific to certain types of cancer because too much consumption of this can increase the growth of bladder cancer by 4.4x.

3. Prevents cardiovascular disease and lowers bad cholesterol. This is due to its chlorogenic acid content which lowers the bad cholesterol and prevents it from accumulating as well as crystalizing in the bloodstream.

4. Works as a mighty disinfectant and bacteria killer. And if you have a yeast infection or you need to balance your external body bacteria or you suffer from athlete’s foot, take a bath with ACV.

When to use ACV?

ACV is not for everyone’s use, thus you have to be very cautious with it. It can negatively affect a bladder cancer patient but can have a positive impact on other people.

As a general warning – consuming 8 oz. of ACV for a longer period of time may cause issues like low potassium. After taking this amount of ACV for a period of 6 days, a person may develop osteoporosis.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women – it is not yet known how it affects them but is best not to try them to play safe.

Diabetics – people with diabetes, especially type I, should be very careful in consuming ACV as it can affect and lower their blood sugar. Close monitoring is needed as well as adjustment of the meds if you want to consume ACV. Potassium levels may decrease with an overabundance of insulin, which may mean that great amounts of apple cider vinegar can decrease potassium levels in the body. Potassium level in the body may drop if ACV is taken with insulin.

CAUTION: if people take chlorthalidone (Thalitone), digoxin (Lanoxin), hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ, HydroDiuril, Microzide), chlorothiazide (Diuril) can be wary if they combine these drugs which lower potassium levels and ACV which lowers potassium levels as well. Side effects can be increased if this mineral is low.
